Wondering how often you should send a Newsletter? We've got you covered with our handy guide!
Newsletters are a key tool for communicating with your users and should be used to encourage people to log in to your platform and find out more, but how often should you send them? Too often and people could end up unsubscribing, not often enough and you risk people losing interest.
So, what's the best frequency?
At Equiem, we've seen the most success from platforms that consistently send a newsletter once a week or fortnight. This is because your users come to expect the newsletter in their inbox and build a habit of logging into the platform following the communication.
What about the best day?
We recommend sending newsletters earlier in the week between Monday and Wednesday. This allows enough time to communicate upcoming events, news and updates for the rest of the week.
If you can, it's a good idea to test out various send times and analyse the open and click rates to work out when your audience most actively engages with newsletters. But, if you don't know where to start, 10am is a sweet spot according to a range of studies by industry leaders.
Are there any exceptions?
During quiet periods and bank holidays, you may find you don't have enough content to fill a newsletter, in these cases, we recommend holding off from sending a weekly newsletter (you don't want to end up filling the newsletter with irrelevant content just to send something).
Consider sending a Single Post Notification for your highlight that week instead, or a smaller newsletter including a post regarding temporary changes to company operations during a public holiday period, if relevant.
