To segment a Quick Link, navigate to the All Content page within the Content Management System and select the Add New button. Create your post, and Save. Ensure you have ticked the relevant site(s). Once your post has been created, navigate to the Audience button to load the segmentation widget.

Alternatively, you can segment an existing Quick Link. Locate the post you desire to segment by searching using the filter bar at the top of the All Content page. Once located, once again navigate to the Audience button to load the segmentation widget.

Once selected, the Audience button will navigate you to a new page, which outlines which Site your piece of content is connected to. If your piece is connected to multiple sites, they will all be listed here - click the site that you wish to segment content to.

Following selecting your chosen Site, a new popup screen will appear. This popup will preview the number of users in the Audience (this will change once you add a segment), as well as a confirmation that you currently have no segments.

To begin segmenting, select the Add Segment button, this will create your first segment.

To begin creating your segment, select the Add Filter button and choose your required filter from the drop down list. There are 9 available filters to use for segmentation, all of which are managed via Users & Companies Settings and are surfaced in the segmentation widget for creating your audience.

If a segment you're after isn't available, (such as roles or user attributes), it is likely they require assigning in the Users & Companies Settings prior to appearing in the list. Please access our Users & Companies learning path to find out how to add segments.

To segment by Company for example, first, select Companies from the dropdown. This will default to zero companies selected. Expand the filter to view the list of companies.

Select the companies you wish to segment your content to. You can use the Search Bar to locate a specific company. In addition, multiple companies can be selected. A Select All option is available at the top of the list.

The badge icon (1 in the below example) indicates how many options have been selected for your filter.

A Segment can consist of multiple filters. For example, if you wanted a piece of content to be segmented to members that worked at Equiem and were a Key Tenant Contact only, you would add another filter and add the Role Key Tenant Contact, this would appear as below:

If you wanted the piece of content to be segmented to members who worked for Equiem or who are Key Tenant Contacts, you can add an additional segment that will contribute to the total audience size.

Click Add Segment and apply your chosen filter. The below example shows content that will be segmented to those who work for Equiem or are Key Tenant Contacts.

Note, the total estimated user count at the bottom of the widget won't necessarily add up to the total number of estimated users for each segment. This is because a user could exist across multiple segments but will only be counted once in the total.

Once you select your chosen segment or segments, select Save Audience.

Your screen will navigate back to the initial page outlining site connections. Under the Audience column, you will have an updated Audience filter with your chosen segment or segments. The system will now automatically segment the content for that audience.

Repeat the process if you have more than one site displaying that you wish to segment the content on.

To segment by any other audience type, the process remains the same.
