To announce a competition winner, you'll first need to get in contact with them via the method specified in the terms and conditions to inform them they have won e.g. by email.
If the campaign you are running includes a winner announcement post, you can fill in the relevant details and publish the content. If it doesn't, create a simple winner announcement news post. Make sure to make the post relevant to your competition and only use a member's first name in the content.
If you don’t want to share a separate winner announcement post, we recommend at the minimum adding a comment to the competition post on the front end of your platform announcing the winner, for example:
“Congratulations to Susan E. for being randomly selected as our winner! Thank you to all who participated.” This will keep members up to date.
It's also helpful to keep track of all of your competition winners and the prize(s) handed out in a spreadsheet tracker. This can be used to refer back to for prize inspiration and to see who has previously won to avoid having the same person win multiple times if necessary.
