The third step to configure Request Management is to define the Categories and Subcategories that will be used to classify and group requests that helps users navigate and locate specific requests efficiently.
Types of Categories
All the categories in Request Management have a type which is mandatory. The type is used for reporting and cannot be edited. Every new category added will need to be assigned one of the below types.

Default Categories and Subcategories
Request Management provides a list of default Categories and Subcategories. You can easily select the ones that are relevant for your site by following the below steps.
Click the Categories tab.
Click the + icon to get started and add a new category.
You can select the default list of categories provided by selecting the ones you would like to add from the drop-down list. It will automatically provide an icon and a type.
For example, click “Lifts”
The Lift icon is selected. You only need to add the buildings for which the category is relevant.
Click “Select All” or select one or several buildings.
Click “Add Category” to finish adding category.
Each Default category comes with a default set of Sub-categories. Click on lifts and you’ll see the list of sub-categories.
Repeat this step as many times as required to add the relevant default categories.

Custom Categories and Subcategories
If you want to create new categories/subcategories or edit default categories/subcategories provided, you can easily do so by following the steps below:
Click the + icon.
Click the “Category Name” field.
Type the name of the new category e.g. “New Custom Category”.
Click “New Custom Category”.
Select an Icon.
Select the Type (mandatory and used for reporting), e.g. Amenities.
Select the buildings relevant to this category.
Click “Add Category”.
Then go and add the relevant subcategories, click “Add Subcategories”.
Type the name of your Subcategory and click enter.
Click the + icon and add as many subcategories as needed.
Editing a Default Category
Click the “Category name” field.
Choose your default catergory.
Select the buildings and click “Add Category”.
Click Edit icon.
You can change the icon, the name or the buildings.
Click the “Category name” field.
E.g. “Amenities Edited”.
You can also edit the subcategories.
Click the three dots icon.
You can delete the subcategory.
Click “Yes, delete”.
Or add more relevant subcategories.
