Setting Categories and Subcategories
The third step to configure Request Management is to define the Categories and Subcategories that will be used to classify and group requests, which helps users navigate and locate specific requests efficiently.
Types of Categories
All the categories in Request Management have a type which is mandatory. The type is used for reporting and cannot be edited. Every new category added will need to be assigned one of the below types.

Adding Categories and Subcategories
Request Management provides a list of default Categories and Subcategories. You can easily select the ones that are relevant for your site by following the below steps.
Click the Settings button in the top right hand corner and then navigate to the Categories tab.
Click the + Add Category button to get started and add a new category.
Add the Category Name by selecting the one you would like to add from the drop-down list. It will automatically provide an icon and a type.
You can type your own category here if required. If you add your own category, you will also need to select an Icon and Type from the options provided.For example, click “Lifts”
The Lift icon is selected. You only need to add the buildings for which the category is relevant.
Click “Select All” or select one or several buildings.
Next, add the Queue that this category should be assigned to. If you don’t see the relevant queue, it may be because the Queue has a different company owner to the company you are registered under. Please reach out to our support team if this is the case.
Then click Next: Subcategories
Add the Subcategories that relate to this Category. If you have a CAFM integration, these will need to match your CAFM system exactly.
Press the tick button to add the Subcategory.Repeat this step as many times as required to add the relevant default categories and subcategories.
Once complete, select the Add Category button
Editing a Category or Subcategory
You will not be able to edit the Queue a category belongs to once the category has been created
Open Request Management then select Settings from the top right hand corner
Navigate to the Categories tab
Select the Category you would like to edit from the list
Select the Edit button and make your required changes. Navigate to the Subcategories tab to edit or add any subcategories.
Press Save Changes once complete.
