Requirements

Before you start creating an Apple Developer Account you must have:

  • A credit or debit card

  • Company email address - we recommend generic e.g. mobile@yourcompany.com

  • A phone number - we recommend a mobile phone

  • Company website

  • Name and email address to be associated with the account (this person will need to provide a form of ID to verify)

  • Government-issued photo ID e.g. passport or driver’s licence

  • D-U-N-S number - you can look this up or create this here. You’ll need to provide organization details.

  • Registered company address

If you have just created a D-U-N-S number for your organisation, this may take up to 30 days to be reflected in the D-U-N-S registry. Without the D-U-N-S number you cannot complete the process of creating Apple developer account.

Creating the Developer Account

  1. Go to the Apple Developer program enrollment website: Become a member - Apple Developer Program

  2. Choose the 'Start Your Enrollment' button. This will direct you to the Apple Developer Program Enrollment page.

  1. You'll need an Apple ID to proceed. If you don't have one, click 'Create yours now’ and fill in the required fields: name, surname, country and birthdate. Then, enter the email and password for this account. Select the country code and input your telephone number, then select how Apple will verify your number. At the end, insert the captcha code and click Continue.

Where possible, please use a generic email address (e.g., mobile@yourcompany.com) when creating a new Apple ID. This ensures that the developer account will not be linked to a specific individual, which could cause access issues if they leave your business.

  1. A pop-up will ask you to verify your email address. Enter the code you have received in your email.

  1. The next step is to verify your phone number.

  1. After the verification is complete, you will be automatically redirected to the contract page.

  1. Review the Apple Developer Agreement, check the confirmation box, and click 'Submit'.

  1. Enter your details as the Account Holder. If requested, enter your legal first name, legal last name, and phone number. Do not enter an alias, nickname, or company name as your legal name, as this will delay the completion of your enrollment review.

  1. You’ll be asked to verify your identity using your driver’s license or government-issued photo ID. Capture your photo ID and tap or click Confirm.

  1. Select your entity type as Company/Organization and click Continue.

  1. Enter the legal entity name. Apple does not accept DBAs, fictitious businesses, trade names, or branches. The legal entity name will appear as the “seller” for apps you distribute. Example: Seller: ABC Company, Inc.

  2. Enter your D-U-N-S number - a unique 9 digit identification number. If you don’t have the D-U-N-S number, click Check now and complete your organization’s details to request or create a D-U-N-S number.

If you just requested a D-U-N-S number, you will need to temporarily pause the account creation process.

  1. Enter your company’s registered address, phone number and website. The website must be publicly available and the domain name must be associated with your organization.

  1. Apple will ask you if you have the authority to sign legal agreements on behalf of your organization. You may need to provide the contact details of another employee who can verify your signature authority. Click Continue to submit your enrollment.

Completion of the Enrollment Process

Apple will communicate the status of your enrollment process via email. Ensure that you check your inbox (including spam/junk folders) regularly for these updates. Once you receive a verification email, follow the instructions provided to complete the process.

Pay the Annual Fee

To finalise your enrollment you’ll need to pay an annual fee of $99. This fee is required to keep the developer account active. Apple will guide you through the payment process. You can use credit/debit card details or other payment methods available in your region.

Accept Terms & Conditions and/or Agreements

Carefully read and accept the Terms & Conditions and other agreements presented by Apple. These documents outline the rules and guidelines you'll need to adhere to while using their platform.
