Creating an Article in Equiem One Essentials
Overview
This section will guide you through the process of writing an article and the necessary steps to post it on your Home page.
How to create an Article
Access to the Content Management System requires the Property Manager Role in your profile.
Navigate to Equiem One and select 'Content Management' from the left-hand menu.
This action directs you to the Content Management screen, displaying all Articles in your Portfolio.
Click on '+ New Article'.
As you progress through the following steps, the right-hand Preview section updates to show how your article will appear once published.
Enter a title of your article, ideally under 10 words.
Excerpt: Provide a brief summary of the article. This mandatory field displays beneath the title on the Home page.
Upload an image (minimum size: 800x600 pixels, landscape format). Ensure the desired area is within the cropping tool's frame. Options include 'Upload Image' or 'Cancel' to redo.
Click Upload Image or Cancel to start again.Body Content: Where possible, split body text into three main sections: Introduction, main text, call to action (CTA).
This is where the main content for your Article should go, for example, a building announcement, introduction to a new member of the building team or building event.
Introduction: Offer a distinct opening different from the post excerpt.
Main Text: Include a minimum of two paragraphs detailing the who, what, where, when, and why.
Call to Action: Guide readers on the next steps, such as contacting Building Management.
If necessary, format the text using the formatting toolbar.
Hyperlinks: Use the chain icon to link phrases to URLs or email addresses (prefix mailto: for emails).
Attachments: Optionally, add downloadable files (formats: pdf, png, jpg, jpeg, gif).
Save Options: Choose 'Save Draft' for later editing or 'Prepare to Publish' for immediate steps towards publication.
If you save the content as a Draft, you can find it again on the Articles tab.
Preparing to Publish
This section covers the steps required to publish your Article for your users.
After selecting 'Prepare to Publish,' navigate to the Site Settings.
You will only be able to select sites where you have the Property Manager Role assigned
Choose the site(s) for publishing by checking the boxes. Use the drop-down arrow to access and adjust specific Site Settings.
Note: Site selection is limited to where you have the Property Manager Role.For audience segmentation, click 'Select Audience' to open the segmentation widget.
This will open the segmentation widget.
This popup will preview the number of users in the Audience (this will change once you add a segment), as well as a confirmation that you currently have no segments.To begin segmenting, select the Add Segment button. It will create your first segment. Then select Add Filter and choose your required filter from the drop down list.
Once you have selected your filter, choose the audience you would like to see your content by selecting them with the checkboxes.
In the below example, it was chosen to segment the content to all users in Building 2.The badge icon (1 in the below example) indicates how many options have been selected for your filter.

6. If you make a mistake and want to remove a filter, you can use the delete icon pictured above. Click Save Audience.
7. You can add multiple filters to a segment. For example, if you wanted your article to be segmented to users who worked in Building 2 and were a Workplace Manager, you can add an additional filter as per the below.Â
8. If you want to segment content so that only people who work in Building 2 or are Workplace Managers, you need to add an additional segment that will contribute to the total audience size.
Click Add Segment and add your chosen filter.
Once you have added your chosen segments and filters, click Save Audience.
Next, choose if you would like the content to be published under the default authors name or select somebody different.
To choose a new Author, select the Select an Author box and search for your chosen author. They will need to have the Property Manager role assigned to them at the site you are publishing the Article on.
Click Continue to Publication Settings.
Publication Settings
Choose whether you would like to publish the content straight away or schedule for a later date. If you are publishing straight away, select Publish Now and then click the Publish button.
Your Article will be published on your Home page.To schedule your article, click the Schedule button and select your desired publication date and time using the date and time picker provided. Click Schedule.

In both instances, your Article will be visible on the Articles tab with a Published tag.
