Creating an SMS Notification

Open the Content Management System and navigate to the Communications tab from the menu at the top of the page. Select SMS Notification, then In Progress.

Here you can view any Drafts you have started, or to create a new notification click the Create button.

Select the site you want to create an SMS notification for from the drop-down list. Press Select.

In the Message field type what you’d like to include in the SMS notification. There is a 306 character limit, which will count down as you type your message. You can include links in this field, however, each character will count towards your total limit, so we’d recommend using a link shortener such as http://bit.ly if needed.

If you’d like to segment the content use the Audience button to choose which segment your SMS notification should be shared with. Please see our course on Content Segmentation to find out more about this.

You can send a test SMS to one or multiple phone numbers to check that the notification is coming through as expected. Simply type the phone number including the country code e.g. +1 , +61, +44 etc and click the Send test button.

When you’re happy with the notification you can choose to Send Immediately or to Schedule in advance. You can also Save Draft to come back to a notification later.

If scheduling, in the pop-up box pick the date and time in the future when you'd like your SMS notification to send and click Apply and then Schedule.

You can Pause Schedule up until 15 minutes before the scheduled time to edit your SMS notification.
