Dynamic Linking Overview
Dynamic linking is a powerful feature within the Equiem tool suite that allows you to seamlessly connect various pieces of content across the platform.
Whether you’re managing news posts, events, building information, or quick links, dynamic linking ensures that users can access related content without ever leaving the app. This guide will walk you through the steps to create dynamic links, enhancing the user experience and keeping engagement high.
What is Dynamic Linking?
Dynamic linking allows you to link to any content created within the Equiem system directly from the app. Unlike standard URLs that might open in a browser, dynamic links keep users within the app, ensuring a smoother and more cohesive experience. This feature is especially useful for linking related news articles, events, building information, or products in the Store Manager.
You can dynamic link in all content types in the Content Management System: News, Events, Building Information and Quick Links.
You will also use dynamic linking to embed Polls within other content pieces
Creating a Dynamic Link
Open our Content Management System.
Before attempting to create Dynamic Links, ensure that you have created the content or product you want to link to. This could be a news article, event, building information post, or a product in the Store Manager.
To add a dynamic link in News, Events and Building Information posts, open the content you’d like to add a link to and click Edit. (You can also create dynamic links when you’re creating new content).
Click into the Body field, where you’d like to add your link (you can highlight a word or sentence as indicated below if desired), and in the menu bar click the blue Q icon. This will open a pop up box.
In the Link Title field, type what you’d like the link to say e.g. “Click here”.
Then use the search bar and filter boxes to find the content you want to link to, for example by typing a keyword from the title, or narrowing it down by the site or type of content. Select the desired content post from the list at the bottom.
Click Insert.
To add a dynamic link to Quick Links, use the blue Q icon in the Link field. This will bring up the same pop up box, excluding the Link Title field.
