Copied Content Checklist
You may choose to leave the content as it is for example when copying an Editorial post which is a generic piece of content, suitable for many sites and already published and proofed by the Equiem content team. Or you may choose to repurpose the content if you want the format of a post but wish to change some of the details, for example, a Summer Holiday competition that you wish to change to a Winter Staycation competition.Â
Follow the below checklist to help you determine if your copied content is ready for publishing:
Have you ensured the content is relevant for your site? For example, it wouldn’t be appropriate to copy content that described how to purchase a Locker Subscription if your site doesn’t have this.
Have you removed prompts from a copied template? Templates will often include directions such as [INSERT PRIZE DETAILS]. Make sure these have been filled in accordingly.
Have you checked the hyperlinks? Make sure any links included in the copied content are still relevant to your site such as contact details or links to other sections of the platform.
Have you checked the publishing date? Copied content will automatically take on the publishing date of the post it was copied from, ensure this is updated.
Have you checked the event date and location? Copied Events will automatically take on the time, date and location of the copied event.Â
Is the image appropriate? If you have repurposed content or copied it from another site, make sure the image is still appropriate for the site you have copied to.Â
Can you tweak generic content to make it more relevant? For example, could you add in details about the current weather to make a post more personal such as ‘We know it hasn’t stopped raining this week in Manchester, that’s why we thought we would brighten up your day with this competition’
Tip: Make a note of this checklist and use it every time you copy content.
